By Antonio Malara In March 2019 I published the post "Paciotti 4US Story" where I talked about the iconic pair of shoes so popular in the nineties and recently revived by the Paciotti brand. That purchase was the fourth after that of the summer of 2018 which brought me back to the world of the brand after at least twenty years and actually made me rediscover it. After the "4US Story" I bought another pair of Paciotti in the summer of 2019 and then the ones I'm posting. Although every single pair of shoes I bought had its own personality and uniqueness, I have never dedicated any blog posts to them. To this day, "Paciotti 4US Story" remains the post with the most views on my blog, I don't know why, obviously the brand is liked but maybe it’s not sufficiently advertised on the net. This winter I decided it was the right time to go back to buy another pair of Paciotti shoes, not to reward the visits I have on the blog but because in fact this, together with Tod's, is the most comfortable shoe in Italy and I think in the whole world. To be honest I had two types of shoes in the wishlist and despite waiting for the discounts, I only had to opt for one pair. I gave up on a pair of black calfskin winter loafers and the choice went to the more expensive ones but a type of item that I always wanted but never managed to find. The shoe I bought is the "Easy Trial" boots, a sturdy shoe, totally in calf leather with a rubberized sole about 5 cm high in the back and 3 cm in the front, a sporty boot with a tough, wild but elegant look at the same time. The sole of the foot is wide with the slightly square front part, the flexibility is given by the elastic bands sewn on the external sides. This detail is the only thing that breaks the totally smooth design of the boot which otherwise has nothing, no laces, no zippers, no clamps. The other detail is in the part of the rear fiber that is at the top; the sword is engraved there, or the logo of the Paciotti brand. The only visible design element remains precisely the lateral elastic together with the sole which, being high, has a very particular rubber design, like a series of triangles one next the other. Worn, the boots confirm the comfort synonymous of brand. For a bulky and massive shoe, it has a comfort that is inversely proportional to the "hard" appearance of the outside. Inside the boot, there is the right space to allow the foot to move. The only part where the boot remains snug is in the instep but without giving the sensation of tightening. It was since 2019 that I hadn't bought a pair of Paciotti shoes and I must say that the return has completely satisfied me. First I noticed how the brand has kept the shoe sizes. I wore an 8 in the 90s and still wear the same number after twenty years. This detail should not be underestimated, in fact in the past, buying other brands, I happened to have to return two pairs of shoes always of the same size because they were tight. The fact that these shoes were "Made in Italy" was very shameful because in fact they did not respect the Italian fit. The even more weird thing was that one of the brands, namely Giuseppe Zanotti, mainly produces shoes. The other one was a Dolce&Gabbana sneaker, they are actually not specific to shoes but the product was always Italian. It is clear that that episode made me lose faith in brands so I actually stopped buying shoes online made by them. The "Easy Trials" are the boots I have always wanted, finding them from a brand I have always been fond of and that reminds me of the carefree years, has increased the pleasure and satisfaction for this purchase. In addition to this I intend to use the boots for a "fashion" post that I care a lot because I consider it significant for the content I will talk about. To conclude, I hope that in the future Paciotti will produce shoes with a more minimal design as I like it in order to choose this brand over the others. My long absence from Paciotti is in fact is linked to the design of the sports models they produce, which most of time, never respect my tastes. As for elegant shoes, on the other hand, the models are superlative, only that in recent years, due to a series of contributing factors, I have used fewer and fewer elegant models. With this hope, in the meantime I enjoy my "Easy Trials", as comfort and aesthetically.            Pictures: Antonio Malara
