No Mistakes

In the post that I wrote about the slip-on shoes (read here), I showed my disappointment about an expensive new piece of design that after a while is copied by a cheap brand. You spend lots of money for a pair of shoes and then everyone has the same model but in a cheap version. I’m glad to buy expensive shoes when I can, but I think that we are in a moment that brands needs to apply some copyright when they come out with something new and original. Only in this way you can buy something really exclusive.

I think it was one year ago when I saw an innovative pair of shoes. They were for girl, made by Fendi. I’m talking about the socks-sneakers. These shoes are high unibody sneakers, normally made by synthetic materials that ends like a sock around the ankle. Sometime later I waited for a man model and then I noticed that Balenciaga did this kind of sneakers for man. At the price of 600 euro they becomes a must in a short time while I didn’t know their existence yet.
This time I kept waiting because I supposed that some cheap brand would have sold this model. In fact Zara did it! I bought the first sock sneakers last winter, but they were soft shoes that didn't look so strong. They seems only good for home use, so I decided not wear them to go out.
Last spring-summer collection, Zara come out with several models of socks sneakers and I decided to buy the model that looks more like the one of Balenciaga. I bought these shoes with the intention to use them even to go out and this time I’ve been smart. In fact I didn’t spend a fortune for a pair of shoes that everyone could wear. No mistakes for me this time, especially because the big brand sneakers are not in leather so they’re overrated.

So this outfit rolls around the shoes. I paired the black sneakers with this Dondup Jeans that I also used in a previous post. In the meanwhile I modified even this pants on the ankle (see the difference here). As a top I used the same Plein Sport t-shirt I wore here but in grey color and my third ASOS bomber this time in black. The outfit looks nice but I have to say that these jeans in this way are really cool! A little change on the ankle make a totally different style!
About my sock-sneakers I can say that they are really comfortable, maybe not so fresh as I thought but a good pair of shoes. I’m not sure about the quality, the material may not be so strong, so I need to use them a little before knowing it.

Btw considering that they cost 60 euro, I think it was not a bad investment, especially if this model will be no fancy in a couple of years. I learned the lessons about new design shoes, it's better to wait for the cheap one when you don’t know the shoes destiny.
