This Aston Martin Valkyrie Technic set is one I immediately purchased as soon as it was unveiled. There were two main reasons: I had already assembled and was thrilled with the Speed Champions version of this model, and secondly, after assembling the Lamborghini Huracán Tecnica, I became particularly fascinated with this type of set. As I wrote in the Speed Champions post on Aston Martin, this car struck me because it is the closest thing to an F1 single-seater, yet it is also a road-legal car. It goes without saying that I was incredibly curious to see how the car would be reproduced on a larger scale and in Technic form. In reality, seeing the model in the photo, I wasn't particularly convinced, but I was confident because such a beautiful car is difficult to ruin in a Technic reproduction. What intrigued me most were the essential shapes, because in reality the reproduction seemed a bit bare compared to the Speed Champions version. All these elements, however, didn't make me lose faith in the set, but rather made me even more curious. It took me only two days to assemble this car, and it was a pleasant and relaxing experience. Assembly began at the front with the floorpan, steering axle, and seats. Using the parts in the second bag, I moved to the rear with the assembly of the 12-cylinder engine and the wheel axle. Following the technical steps, assembly automatically transformed into the final look of the car. This is without a doubt the most beautiful Technic reproduction of this size. Before assembling it, my favorite was the Lamborghini Huracán Tecnica, which effectively passed the trophy to this Aston Martin. For me, the original car is already a masterpiece, and this reproduction is a truly successful interpretation, more stylized yet with a strong personality. I placed the Valkyrie next to the Huracán and I could see how it was crafted respecting the characteristics of the original car. The Valkyrie is lower than the Huracán and has a more forward-facing driving position, despite the fact that the Huracán also has the same characteristics I mentioned compared to normal cars. Technic hypercar replicas are undoubtedly so cool and faithful, but Lego hasn't produced many models of this type. I already assembled the Koenigsegg Jesko and currently, there are soke models like the Toyota Supra which is sports models derived from production cars. One option can be the Ferrari FXX K and then there's the Lamborghini Revuelto, but this car is little bigger and it has a battery for light and being remotely controlled. This feature put the car price to 179€ which is little expensive for the size of the car. I'm definitely starting to like this type of set, and I've already bought the Ford Bronco, which is clearly a different car. I hope Lego offers other hypercars or vintage models on the 60€ price range. A.M.
